Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan said on March 19 that they are prepared to help ensure safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil shipping lane blocked by Iran that U.S. President Donald Trump has asked allies to assist with opening. In a joint statement, the countries condemned Iranian attacks on commercial vessels and energy infrastructure, as well as the effective closure of the key shipping route, and called on Tehran to immediately halt its actions.
Retired U.S. Marine Col. William Dunn joined NTD to analyze the confirmation hearing of President Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.). Dunn discussed what Mullin should focus on, Mullin’s own testimony on ICE agents obtaining judicial warrants to enter houses, the fine line between due processes of law, and ensuring lawbreakers are put in prison. Dunn asked why Democrats aren’t complaining about Americans getting killed by illegal aliens, explained how the case for funding the DHS is the protection of American citizens, and called it “criminal” that lawmakers have not
The U.S. State Department on Thursday approved potential arms sales to three Middle East countries worth more than $16.5 billion. NTD spoke to Casey Fleming for his analysis. Casey is chairman and CEO of BlackOps Partners Corporation and a national security advisor.
A top U.S. nuclear security official says China may be carrying out hidden nuclear explosive tests in possible violation of international agreements, raising new concerns about global stability and a renewed push for U.S. testing.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says Iranian ballistic missile attacks on U.S. assets are down 90 percent compared to the start of the war.
Is China failing a global energy test? With the Strait of Hormuz blocked and oil prices climbing, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called China an “unreliable” partner. And the bold new plan to address the issue—redirecting oil shipments bound for China back to global markets.
Saudi Arabia reserves the right to act militarily against Iran, and any trust with Tehran has been shattered, the Saudi foreign minister said early on Thursday, after Riyadh was targeted by Iranian ballistic missiles. Iran accused Israel of striking its facilities in the huge South Pars gas field on Wednesday in a major escalation in the U.S.-Israeli war, and retaliated by vowing attacks on oil and gas targets throughout the Gulf, firing missiles at Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In the harshest comments to come out of the Gulf kingdom in nearly three weeks of war, Farhan accused Iran of premeditated hostile actions against its neighbours, both directly and via an array of regional proxies which he urged Tehran to rein in.
NTD has the latest from President Donald Trump’s meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at the White House. Oil prices jumped again after Iran struck a major natural gas site in Qatar. Trump issued a sharp warning to the regime. Meanwhile, Key U.S. allies said they are ready to support "appropriate efforts" to re-open the Strait of Hormuz. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said U.S. objectives in the war against Iran remain unchanged and on target. He vowed the United States "will finish this" in honor of fallen U.S. soldiers. He also confirmed the Pentagon is seeking additional funding for the Iran war.
President Donald Trump says NATO countries are now “getting much nicer” about opening the Strait of Hormuz, a day after he threatened to let them take full responsibility for the strait’s security. Israel says Iran no longer has the capacity to enrich uranium or produce ballistic missiles. This comes as the Pentagon declared that the United States is “winning decisively” while assuring Americans that Operation Epic Fury is nothing like the “forever” wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Senate Homeland Security Committee has voted to advance the nomination of Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.). Trump’s nominee to replace outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem now heads to the floor for a full Senate vote. Long lines at airport security are appearing at more major airports as DHS funding remains stalled in Congress. With the Department of Homeland Security in a partial shutdown, Transportation Security Administration employees have been working without pay as the United States enters peak spring break travel season.
